Duesseldorf/Germany: To be continued… design classic duesseldorf is going to take place on December 2/3, 2023! Preview the evening before 16 – 21 hrs.

When the design event started in 1999, there was just the idea and a 1800-square-metre industrial hall, no more – but 45 dealers and dedicated collector-friends followed the idea and formed the first fair – and it became a success! From the beginning it turned out to be a lively event, and the first Duesseldorf-based market exclusively for international vintage 20th/21st Century Design Objects got off to a start. From then on the DBD, now dcd, attracted more and more people, dealers and visitors, and today, design classic duesseldorf is THE annual German Fair for Modern Design Classics – with its 25th return in December 2023 presenting around 150 curated dealers over 6000 square metres.

Saturday is the building-up + preview day (preview + start build-up 16h00/end 21h00; special dealer’s entry conditions); the Sunday open for the public, 11h00 to 18h00, admission fee 10,- Euro/person.

Visitors from USA, South Korea, Brazil, and nearly all European countries meet in Duesseldorf every time, the design event takes place. Indian summer on the Rhine combined with some great finds – more and more visitors have already made a tradition out of it. They combine their design trip to Paris/France, Amsterdam/Netherlands or Antwerp + Brussels / Belgium with their visit to Duesseldorf – and they are delighted! At the design classic duesseldorf, they find all the important European Design Galleries as exhibitors – and even more, a talk with the young new gallerists and co-collectors who act as one-time sellers is always appreciated!

Renowned auction houses active in the field of modern design are present with information booths: this year, we collaborate with Quittenbaum, Munich, active working Europe-wide. Stockholms Auktionsvaerk, lively net-platform for design classics, acts as pr-partner as do several companies and dealer-colleagues.

Classic interior design pieces, furniture designed by architects, glass, ceramics, collector’s silver jewelry, modernism, Bauhaus, Memphis, Post-Modernism, mid-century – the program is manifold, due to the variety of offering galleries + private collectors. What they think the visitor + design addict could love + wish to own – they bring it! From Bauhaus via Scandinavian and American Mid-century to Memphis – several hours are needed to cover the whole design classic duesseldorf, a concentrated event that starts on late Saturday afternoon for the sellers (4 pm) and opens on Sunday morning for the public.
